This Diversity & Inclusion Policy formalises our commitment to inclusive storytelling, respectful collaboration, and equal opportunity in all aspects of our work. We recognise the importance of diversity in both creative expression and professional practice and are committed to fostering an environment where all individuals feel respected, valued, and heard.
Our aims are to:
• Promote inclusive values in both our creative work and workplace culture
• Create content that reflects the richness and diversity of our communities
• Build respectful, empathetic relationships with all collaborators, clients, and participants
Scope
This policy applies to all directors, staff, freelancers, and contractors engaged by Draftpic Video Production.
Policy
At Draftpic, diversity and inclusion are central to how we operate and how we tell stories. We believe that inclusive storytelling begins with inclusive practices — from who we work with to how we engage with people on and off screen.
As a small, Queensland-based business, we are intentional about building respectful, equitable relationships with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. We are mindful of the role media plays in shaping public perception and are committed to avoiding stereotypes or misrepresentation in any form.
We are committed to the following principles and practices:
• Treating all collaborators, clients, and subjects with dignity and respect
• Reflecting diversity in both the content we create and the people we engage
• Ensuring that our stories avoid harmful stereotypes or reductive portrayals
• Creating sets that are safe, inclusive, and welcoming to everyone involved
• Working with empathy and cultural sensitivity at every stage of the production process
• Upholding a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination, harassment, or exclusion
These values are embedded into our day-to-day operations and creative decision-making. We continue to reflect on and refine our practices in pursuit of greater equity and inclusion, and we are proud to contribute to a more respectful, representative, and inclusive creative industry.
Responsibility and Review
This Diversity & Inclusion Policy is the responsibility of the management of Draftpic Video Production. It will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains relevant and aligned with our values and working practices.

We are committed to the following actions and principles:
• Regularly assessing our environmental impact and setting goals to reduce it over time
• Minimising our consumption of resources such as electricity, paper, and water

• Striving for continuous improvement and taking steps to reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions
• Minimising transport-related emissions by combining travel, travelling in one vehicle to set where possible, and working with local suppliers and crew whenever feasible
• Aiming to achieve a zero-waste production set by eliminating single-use plastic items such as water bottles and cutlery, encouraging reusable alternatives, and selecting catering providers that use recyclable, compostable, or reusable packaging and serve environmentally conscious menus
• Where possible, engaging with vendors and partners who demonstrate strong environmental practices
• Sharing this policy with team members, contractors, and relevant stakeholders
• Reporting progress and sharing sustainability initiatives through appropriate internal and external communication channels

Ethical and Inclusive Practice Policy
Intent
This Ethical and Inclusive Practice Policy outlines our commitment to socially responsible, values-driven operations across all areas of our work, from procurement and partnerships to storytelling and on-set collaboration. As a small, Queensland-based video production business, we recognise the opportunity and responsibility we have to promote fairness, inclusion, and ethical conduct in every decision we make.
Our goals are to:
• Embed inclusive and ethical thinking across our business and creative processes
• Support local and regional economies through thoughtful engagement
• Reflect our storytelling values of equity, cultural awareness, and integrity in all operations
Scope
This policy applies to all directors, collaborators, and contractors engaged by Draftpic Video Production in the course of project delivery, procurement, and client partnerships.
Policy
1. Inclusive Partnerships and Procurement
We prioritise working with local, Queensland-based vendors and small to medium enterprises (SMEs), valuing professionalism, sustainability, and community engagement. We intentionally seek out partnerships with:
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-owned businesses
• Women-led and culturally diverse enterprises
• Social enterprises and environmentally responsible providers
• Local startups with a clear purpose beyond profit
Wherever possible, we favour vendors and freelancers who reflect the diverse communities we serve.
2. Ethical Business Conduct
We uphold transparent, fair, and respectful practices in all our business dealings. We do not partner with individuals or organisations that engage in:
• Exploitative labour practices
• Environmental negligence
• Discrimination or exclusion
Our decisions are guided by both legal compliance and a commitment to doing what’s right, for people, the planet, and the creative industries we’re part of.
3. Socially Responsible Storytelling
We believe storytelling has the power to drive cultural change. That’s why we collaborate with clients and communities whose missions align with social equity, mental health, education, sustainability, and justice. We approach every story with care, consent, and authenticity, particularly when representing underrepresented voices.
4. On-Set Inclusivity and Safety
We create production environments that are safe, welcoming, and respectful to all. We ensure that contributors feel seen and heard, and we are trauma-aware in the way we engage with lived experience. These values are embedded into how we cast, film, and direct every project.
5. Commitment to Ongoing Impact
While we are not a certified Indigenous or social enterprise, we fully support these sectors and welcome the opportunity to collaborate on initiatives that contribute to meaningful social, environmental, and economic outcomes.
Responsibility and Review
This policy is overseen by Draftpic Video Production’s management and will be reviewed annually to ensure it reflects evolving best practices and our commitment to equity, ethics, and inclusion.
